Itinerary

Day 1 :

Breakfast at hotel and morning we will head to a small village on the slopes of Mt Sumbing for the start of a soft trekking experience. Enjoy lunch en route. Walk through rice fields and plantations and see local villagers at work taking care of their crops or processing charcoal. Then visit Selogriyo Temple. Although it’s a rather modest temple, the walk there (about 2 hours) is beautiful and easy to do for everybody. The next stop is a visit to OHD Museum in Magelang for a look at the area’s contemporary art  and one of the best private collections in the country. (OHD Museum closes on Tuesday). After lunch, we will continue to the Borobudur area to explore Borobudur Temple . It was built in the 9th century and was buried by a volcanic eruption in 1006 AD and then was rediscovered 806 years later in 1812 by Sir Thomas Stamford Bingley Raffles, an important British colonial statesman.

As the largest and oldest group of stupas in the world, it was listed as a World Heritage Site in 1991. Then we will be back to hotel for breakfast . Back to hotel for overnight.
